Introducing the International Student Experience Team

Dear students,

We are writing today to share new and enhanced resources for international students.

The International Student Experience team was created this summer to support the unique academic, cultural, and logistical needs of international students, ensuring their success both inside and outside the classroom. Some of you have already met Seun Olamosu, who joined Dartmouth in August as director for International Student Experience. Alex Bramsen serves as the team’s program coordinator, helping create robust programming for international students throughout the year. Together, they are building an infrastructure that will ease international students’ ability to navigate and adapt to the academic and social landscape at Dartmouth.

Dr. Olamosu has open office hours on Tuesdays from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. We encourage you to make an appointment or drop by for the open hours.

The staff that oversees International Student Experience has primary responsibility for undergraduate student programming but will be working closely with partners in the graduate and professional schools to ensure robust support for all students. In addition to building out support for international students, we also recently welcomed Joshua Cuscaden as our inaugural director of Global Risk and Security. He focuses on the safety of Dartmouth faculty, staff, and students who are traveling abroad.

Dr. Olamosu also works in close partnership with Dartmouth’s Office of Visa and Immigration Services, which focuses on developing and maintaining a dynamic, intercultural environment through immigration sponsorship. Director Susan Ellison and her team provide current and incoming students alike with advising and immigration services. OVIS also works closely with international faculty, staff, and researchers.

If you want to learn more about how Dartmouth is supporting our international community, you can meet the staff during the events listed below. They are also very interested in learning about events and spaces on campus where they can engage with international students. Feel free to email international.student.experience@dartmouth.edu with questions, events, and ideas.
