Engagement Opportunities
Welcome Back
Welcome home and welcome back, Dartmouth international students.
In the early fall term, the International Student Experience Office hosts a welcome back for all new and returning international students to the Dartmouth campus.
Winter Outdoors Series
During the Winter Term, the Outdoor Programs Office (OPO) and the International Student Experience Office (ISEO) team up to present International Students Outdoors, an exciting event series designed to help international students embrace the winter season. This series offers a welcoming introduction to outdoor winter activities, providing students with opportunities to try new experiences, participate in winter activities they enjoy, build confidence in navigating the colder months, and enjoy meaningful moments with friends and the Dartmouth community. Whether exploring the beauty of the season or simply having fun in the snow, this program helps make winter a time of adventure, connection, and discovery.
If you have questions or ideas for the Outdoors Series, send them to us at International.Student.Experience@dartmouth.edu.
Winter Reception
The International Student Experience Office hosts the Winter Reception in late January! The event is an opportunity to learn more about the office and its programs while connecting with Dartmouth’s community.
Winter Care Packs
The Winter Care Pack event is usually held at the height of winter. Attendees will make their own winter to-go care bag full of fun wellness items. Enjoy warm beverages, and connect with International Student Experience Office staff and the Dartmouth community.
Alumni Panels
In the winter term, International students can join the International Student Experience Office for their annual virtual alumni panel with some recent International Alumni. Students get to hear about how the alumni’s undergrad went, what advice they have, and what life has been like after Dartmouth.
Spring Break Treks
The International Student Experience Office hosts local excursions during spring break. These events include exploring downtown Hanover and other Upper Valley attractions.
During spring break 2025, the Director and some students went to Red Kite Candy for sweet treats. Another group went to the Nugget Theater to enjoy the new live-action Snow White with the Program Coordinator.
Global Garden
The International Student Experience Office holds an annual Global Garden (formerly International Week) in the spring term. Global Garden in Spring aims to celebrate the diversity of all Dartmouth cultures and foster a sense of community and belonging among Dartmouth students.
The Global Garden Committee, which is co-chaired by students and overseen by the International Student Experience Office Program Coordinator, plans and runs all events alongside collaborating partners.
Past events have included a Street Food Fair, a free movie screening, a mixer for international faculty, staff, and students, an International Student Dance, and much more.
Student groups and offices interested in collaborating with the Global Garden committee on events may email the International Student Experience Office directly.

Commencement
International Student Graduation Reception
Every year, on the Sunday of Commencement, we invite graduating students and all supporters—parents, families, friends—to join us after Commencement exercises for food, refreshments, a photo area, and one final chance to say farewell to each other and the International Student Experience staff!
Senior Reflection Connections
During the Spring term, the International Student Experience Office hosts reflection programming for graduating international students. This is a time for them to connect with their community, reflect on their time at Dartmouth, and prepare for their transitions post-graduation.
More information on International Student Experience Office commencement programs will be available in the Spring Term.
