Biography

Seun Bello Olamosu has worked in international education and higher education administration for over two decades. Seun is passionate about creating and providing access to transformative spaces where people can thrive and grow. Seun has been at the forefront of inclusive learning and internationalization efforts in her former roles, supporting the adjustment of students to academic environments and increasing the awareness and growth of staff, faculty, and administrators to their roles as change agents. Her own personal journey of navigating spaces, having been raised in Nigeria but living in the U.S for most of her life, makes her passionate about intercultural awareness and development.  

Hence, Seun has been leading and supporting efforts to maximize the benefits of culturally diverse landscapes for most of her career. She was the program manager and chief instructor of the Intercultural Skills Development Program at Duke University, developing and applying the latest knowledge and research in cross-cultural education. Also, while at Duke, Seun served as Assistant Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education, Director for Student and Faculty Engagement, Associate Director for International House, Assistant Director for Intercultural Development, and Academic Advisor. Her research interests include student engagement, globalization and internationalization of education, intercultural development, and leadership. She is a qualified administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory, the Intercultural Effectiveness Scale, and the Global Competencies Inventory. She presently serves as a member of the World Council Advisory Board, a body of learners committed to intercultural understanding across individual and societal differences in pursuit of a more peaceful world. 

Seun earned her Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership, Policy and Development with a focus on Leadership in Intercultural and International Education from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. She obtained both her M.A. and B.A. from NC State University with a focus on cross-cultural communication and mass communication respectively. In her personal life, Seun enjoys writing songs, watching movies, traveling with her husband and gaining bits of newfound knowledge from her sons.
