Aurora Allen

Biography

Aurora Allen is delighted to bring her passion for cross-cultural learning to the International Student Experience Office at Dartmouth. She is a folklorist at heart, and it is her interest in the stories people tell that drew her to her degree in comparative literature and ultimately across the world.

Thanks to several experiences studying and working outside of the United States, Aurora is well versed in both the joys and challenges of cross-cultural exchange and international travel, especially as a young person. After graduating from the University of Oregon in 2020, she went on to work as an ESL instructor in the tiny town of Toyooka, Japan. Here, she loved creating the pedagogical scaffolding that would help her students effectively learn, grow, and explore new paths.

Aurora finds joy in creating meaningful learning spaces where people can share their stories and connect through international exchange. She is excited to join the international community at Dartmouth. In her spare time, Aurora can be found immersed in a good book, writing prose, snowboarding, or practicing her Japanese. Please say hi if you see her out and about!
