Affirmative Action Plans

The Division of Institutional Diversity and Equity manages Dartmouth College's annual affirmative action plan and communicates with all departments regarding their equal employment opportunity and affirmative action obligations. The Director of Equal Opportunity works with key Dartmouth administrators to ensure that good-faith efforts are undertaken to diversify the workforce and meet annual affirmative action goals, monitor compliance with Dartmouth College policies and equal opportunity laws, and serve as one of Dartmouth College's representatives to the federal government in matters related to contractor compliance and affirmative action. 

Goals & Priorities

The Division of Institutional Diversity and Equity works with Dartmouth College's administrators, search committees, and partners, by:

  • Promoting a learning and working environment free from discrimination, harassment, and reprisal
  • Explaining and clarifying policies and procedures, and federal and state laws and regulations regarding equal employment opportunity and affirmative action
  • Supporting diversity in recruitment and hiring by assisting administrative and academic departments in meeting these goals and adhering to Affirmative Action guidelines
  • Compiling and analyzing information and data for the college's Affirmative Action Plan, organizational analysis, and strategic planning efforts
  • Advising campus constituents on areas of progress and areas that require ongoing attention regarding affirmative action and equal employment opportunity
